Ballistic Helmet FAQs

What is a MICH helmet?
The MICH or Modular Integrated Communication Helmet was created in response to the weight of the previously used PASGT Helmet. The PASGT helmet is heavier and does not have accessory rails or NVG mounts. Therefore, in order to mount anything on it, soldiers must carefully drill holes into the helmet, which can compromise the integrity of the aramid in the helmet. PASGT helmets are also very heavy, so many soldiers opt for an all-plastic Bump helmet so they can carry accessories without the weight of a PASGT helmet. The MICH helmet is lightweight, features NVG connectivity and a built-in 4-way attachment rail.

How does this helmet differ from its competitors?

This MICH/ACH ballistic helmet offers IIIA+ (aka 3A+) protection. This means its performance rises and exceeds that of most other helmets on the market. Our helmets are built to withstand multiple hits, puncture wounds, shrapnel and more. Some unique features include: Height-adjustable interior padding, Rigid exterior, Smooth coated interior, All-weather and low visibility paint, NVG mounting, 4-way attachment ARC rail system, Velcro adjustable extra padding, Bungee cords , cloth chin strap, fire-resistant, waterproof material, dust-resistant, ratcheting head capture system to fit virtually any head size and shape.

What accessories will this helmet come with and where can I get the accessories shown in the picture?

We don't want to force customers to use some proprietary or non-standard system. Therefore, all of our mounts/rails use ARC standard rail systems and military configurations. Standard multi-NVG mounts, shrouds, and standard ARC rail systems, to name just three. This allows you to install all the accessories you already have, as well as any aftermarket accessories you may need on site.

Are rails, bolts, padding, bungee cords, Velcro and NVG included?

Yes, they work out of the box. Everything that always remains in the pictures is included with each helmet. The only things not included in this price are add-ons like a clear ballistic face mask or Comtac headphones.

What is the service life of a ballistic helmet?

Bulletproof helmets made of aramid like this one have a shelf life of 5 years if properly maintained, and bulletproof helmets made of PE have a shelf life of 7-10 years. Depends on care and use
